Calling all Republicans!
If you are a Republican, you’re invited to our 2024 Precinct Caucuses!
Previous Clallam Republican caucuses were in 2020. Our next caucuses are at 10am on January 13, 2024. Registration at all locations will begin at 9:00am. Be sure to arrive early, as the doors will close and the caucuses will begin promptly at 10 a.m. The caucuses should be over by 1pm. Bring your Republican friends & neighbors. Kids are welcome.
A caucus is the “grass-roots” of political involvement, where Republicans get together with others of like-mind from their precinct to share their opinions and set the direction of the party for the next several years. Caucus participants will advocate for their preferred issues & candidates and have an opportunity to submit written proposals, amendments & resolutions to the county platform committee. Submissions will be forwarded to the county platform committee for presentation and subsequent vote for acceptance at the county convention.
Caucus participants will also elect delegates & alternate delegates to represent their precinct at the Clallam County Republican Party Convention, which will be an all-day event on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the Vern Burton Memorial Community Center, 308 E. 4th St., Port Angeles. The county convention will vote on the county platform and elect delegates & alternates to the state convention which will be held in Spokane, Washington on April 19-20, 2024.
Any Clallam County registered voter who is willing to state, by signing a Registration Form and List of Participants at Precinct Caucus, that he or she considers him or herself to be a Republican, has not participated and will not participate in the 2024 caucus or convention system of any other party shall be eligible to participate in the Republican caucus. Individuals must be registered to vote in the precinct of the caucus in which they participate.
You live in one of the 67 precincts in Clallam County. You can verify your precinct here: https://www.sos.wa.gov/elections/myvote/ or by calling Clallam County Elections at 360-417-2221. It is recommended that participants bring a copy of their voter registration card to the caucus to make sure you are registered and participating in the correct precinct caucus.
To minimize travel, we will have 3 pooled precinct caucuses, one each in Forks, Port Angeles and Sequim. See a list of precincts below to determine which pooled caucus you should attend. Locations for the precinct caucuses will be listed here once the venues are scheduled.
