The Road to Repealing ObamaCare

by  Senator Mitch McConnell

In the wake of the Supreme Court’s hairsplitting decision to uphold Obamacare, Republicans in Congress have redoubled our efforts to get this monstrosity off the books. If the court won’t do it, we must.

The rationale for such a vote is obvious. When Obamacare first passed, no one knew what its full impact would be. Even Nancy Pelosi famously said we’d have to pass the bill to find out what was in it.

Now that we’ve had some time to study its consequences, Democrats should stand up and be counted. Does it get a passing or a failing grade? That’s all Republicans are calling for. Senate Democrats refuse.

Just this week, Senate Democrats decided to spend an entire day talking about parts of Obamacare that poll well, but they refused to spend 15 minutes being caught on camera voting to uphold the entire law. (more…)

Our Talk Back on Jobs video series is designed to address some of the biggest issues facing the job market in the US.

One such concern is the area of government regulation. There are very few who believe that government regulation is totally bad. However, our first reaction when crisis arises is to run to government and ask them to restrict or regulate something. While this sometimes is appropriate, we need to be careful of the burden of regulation on both people and business.

Our latest Talk Back on Jobs video looks to highlight the hidden dangers of over regulation.

More “green energy” companies go under

Eighty percent (80%)  of Green Energy loans went to Obama donors. The FOX analyst says 70% but actually it is closer to 80%. And 19 companies have so far went bust. The government is spending $14 million on some of the green jobs. Solar power is 35 cents per kilowatt compared to coal, gas and oil that costs 5 cents per kilowatt. Watch video below:

Five major ObamaCare taxes that will hit your wallet in 2013

Fox News

Posted July 5, 2012

While the individual mandate tax gets most of the attention, the ObamaCare law actually contains 20 new or higher taxes on the American people. These taxes are gradually phased in over the years 2010 (with its 10 percent “tanning tax”) to 2018 (when the tax on comprehensive health insurance plans kicks in.)

Six months from now, in January 2013, five major ObamaCare taxes will come into force:

1. The ObamaCare Medical Device Manufacturing Tax

This 2.3 percent tax on medical device makers will raise the price of (for example) every pacemaker, prosthetic limb, stent, and operating table. Can you remind us, Mr. President, how taxing medical devices will reduce the cost of health care? The tax is particularly destructive because it is levied on gross sales and even targets companies who haven’t turned a profit yet. (more…)

Couldn’t find it in my old Webster’s dictionary so I Googled it and discovered it is a recently “coined” new word found on T-shirts on eBay:

Read this one  over slowly and absorb the facts that are within this definition!

I love this word and believe that it will become a recognized English word.

Finally, a word to describe our current political situation…

A FLAG DAY SALUTE

Posted June 14, 2012

from KHouse.org

The history of the American flag is as rich and diverse as the history of the nation it represents. It has been displayed in one-room schoolhouses and has waved in triumph on the surface of the Moon. It has been sprinkled in pieces near the North Pole. It has covered the caskets of thousands of brave military men and women. And every June 14, on Flag Day, it hangs proudly on front porches across the United States. While militiamen and regulars still fought off the British in lonely farm fields, it was clear the new United States would need its own flag to represent the country. On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress passed the following resolution: “Resolved: that the flag of the United States be thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation.” The Congress detailed the meaning of the colors, writing that, “White signifies Purity and Innocence; Red, Hardiness and Valor; Blue signifies Vigilance, Perseverance and Justice.” (more…)
