Clallam GOP Central Committee endorses Brad Klippert for “write-in” Secretary of State

Write In Brad Klippert for Secretary of StateOctober 7, 2022 – At its regular Central Committee meeting last night, there was a unanimous vote to endorse Brad Klippert as the Republican write-in candidate for Secretary of State.  With a top-two primary in Washington State regardless of political party, a Democrat and an “Independent” ended up in the top two spots heading into the general election, due to four Republican candidates running in that race, splitting the vote.

Klippert is endorsed by the Washington State Republican Party,  22 other County Parties so far, and that number is growing.

Klippert said, “I’m honored to answer the call to serve our State and work towards improving our election laws and systems.” Brad Klippert was first elected to public office in 2008 to represent the 8th legislative district and has been re-elected with overwhelming majorities in every subsequent election. Brad is a 7-term State House Representative. He currently serves as the House Minority Vice-Caucus Chair.

As a write-in candidate, Klippert’s name will not appear in the voting pamphlet or on the ballot. He’ll be counting on voters around the state to write in “Brad Klippert” for Secretary of State.

He opposes ranked choice voting, which has become a hot topic in the Secretary of State race after polls showed 40% undecided voters and strong opposition to Ranked Choice Voting. As Secretary of State, Klippert’s other priorities will include: Improving election integrity, Transparency & Security, ensuring voters are verified U.S. Citizens, making election day a holiday, and working to restore in-person voting. Klippert said, “My years of experience working within the legislature to create laws will help me chart a logical path towards improving our elections for all Washingtonians.”

Klippert’s priorities include:

Improve Election Integrity, Transparency & Security
Ensure Voters are verified U.S. Citizens
Make Election Day a Holiday
Restore In Person Voting
Oppose: Ranked Choice Voting!

Spread the word!!  Because this is a “write in” campaign, Klippert’s name will not appear on the ballot.

You must mark the “Write In” bubble on your ballot, then write his name:  “Brad Klippert”.

Do We Really Recognize What the Shutdown is Doing to Our Future?

Do We Really Recognize What the Shutdown is Doing to Our Future?

by Ruth Peterson

Most people do not understand the serious economic damage being done by the shut-down. Government and the incredible economic strength we had as a country at the beginning of this has protected people, so they do not recognize the difficulties they will face a few months into the future.

I saw a poll the other day that got me thinking about this. It was a poll about what people think about the shutdown. It was about 50/50 – people who think it’s the wrong way to handle it vs people who think it was the right thing to do. But what caught my eye was the type of education that people had who overwhelmingly approved of the shutdown. They are the people who have, not just a college degree, but a graduate degree. But those people are being protected right now – they are the ones who are in jobs that you can do from home. I’m one of those people (not the graduate degree – just someone fortunate enough to be able to do my job from home). The only thing I don’t do that is the same is wear my office clothing and drive an hour to and from work. My economic situation hasn’t changed. No big deal.

The Passage of Democrats’ Comprehensive Sex Education Bill

by Susan Shotthafer

While the MAT clinic and corona virus monopolized the attention of many local residents, below, you will find an example of last week’s Democrat destruction to Washington State, traditional American values, and our Judeo-Christian culture.  This is a partial list of over 200 proposed, quite reasonable, but rejected Republican amendments to the Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE) Bill. The Washington Votes website https://www.washingtonvotes.org/  reports Republicans submitted over 200 amendments to this CSE bill that passed on a 56-40 party line vote. (more…)

Update from Olympia, 2-24-2020

by Ruth Peterson

Last Wednesday was a very important cutoff date that killed a lot of bills. Many were very good bills, but some that were terrible were killed as well. There are also some of both still alive. I mainly focus on the bad bills in my newsletters, because my emails are already quite long – you’d be reading into tomorrow, if I covered everything! Also note the next cutoff dates. Friday, the 28th is the cutoff for anything in a policy committee and the fiscal committee cutoff is Monday the 2nd. Both the Senate and the House go back to the floor full time on Tuesday, the 3rd. Not Working for You – State Legislature – Glen Morgan Reports

Glen Morgan
“We the Governed”

I was involved in filming these homeless/drug addict encampments in Olympia in January, 2020. Shortly after we recorded this, the City of Olympia “swept” these camps (it took them two years of people begging them to clean up this mess). Of course, many of these folk just started putting up their tents, tarps, garbage piles, and used needles elsewhere in the city – usually in greenspaces and along streams and parks.

Bills to Watch – Week of Jan. 27, 2020

From Ruth Peterson

Legislation to follow for the week of 1-27-2020. This is not a complete list. I will add to it and update for next week. As I’ve stated before, try to find an organization that focuses on your interests and who provides a newsletter like this for that area. I am barely skimming the surface because of lack of time. There are subjects I’m not even touching upon here. There are lots of bills that will damage different businesses.

Firearms

HB 1068 & SB 5062 – both ban “high capacity” magazines – neither have moved through the legislative process at all since session began.
